Nokomis, FL

Nokomis Beach is Sarasota County's oldest public beach, and the homes near it — along with the ones tucked along the Intracoastal — deal with the same salt air and humidity that make the area so popular in the first place. It shows up first as haze on windows and screens.

It's a smaller, low-key community, but that doesn't mean less exterior upkeep — Gulf-adjacent homes here need the same regular window, roof, and soft-wash attention as their neighbors in bigger coastal cities.
